When a student fails to meet the prerequisites for taking a sequential course, the student is obligated to take an alternative course. In some extenuating circumstances, parents may formally request an override of the school's recommendation or eligibility requirement for a course. In this instance, the student is allowed to take the preferred course with the understanding that the student will remain in said course for the entire school year. In the case of leveled courses, students may only override one level above the teacher recommendation.

After having a discussion with the recommending teacher, please click here to access the English Override Form. Once you SUBMIT the form, you will receive an email confirmation with further instructions. ALL OVERRIDE REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MARCH 17, 2017

Beyond Words is a student-produced literary magazine that celebrates the creative talents of Westford's own writers and artists. The magazine's collection of poems, short stories, photography and drawings reveal students' goals, hopes and sources of inspiration. Beyond Words is committed not only to encouraging and rewarding artistic creativity, but also to community outreach. Beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, the club will initiate programs to support literacy and to bring the joy of reading to the young and old alike.
Beyond Words is open to all Westford Academy students in good standing.
To be an active participant in Beyond Words, students must be present at least one meeting per month.
Students who wish to contribute poems, short stories and/or artwork may submit to the club’s gmail account at
