About SSPA
PERFORMANCE
Artists of all ages are inspired and motivated by the immediacy and power of communicating with a live audience. At SSPA, every student will enjoy a culminating live performance project regardless of the number of weeks enrolled.CURRICULUM
Students will declare one of three tracks as a area of concentration: Musical Theater, Dramatic Acting or Technical Theater as well as a Shakespeare in the Park experience for students entering grades 11 & 12. Each day students meet in a performance workshop which serves as a rehearsal for their current production. In addition to these concentrated areas of study, students will select two elective courses to participate in. These electives will meet for 45 minutes every day. Most courses are designed to run for one week so students have the opportunity to experience a variety of activities.ELECTIVE COURSES
In addition to workshop hours focused on production, students will register weekly for two elective courses which meet for 45 minutes each day.Elective options include:
- Playwriting
- Improvisation
- Auditioning
- Audio & Light Design
- Hair and Make-Up
- Photography
- Ballet, Hip-Hop and Jazz
- A Cappella Singing
- Vocal Performance
- Singing for the Actor
