Well it looks like spring MAY be here to stay. I sure hope so! Spring sports are underway and I know everyone is eager to be outside in the good weather. That said, I would ask parents to remind their son/daughter to dress appropriately for school. With the warmer weather some students dress more like they are going to the beach instead of the classroom. There will be plenty of time for the beach this summer. Any student that is not dressed appropriately may be asked to call home for additional clothing. It would never be our intent to embarrass a student, so I ask that parents have the conversation this weekend before warmer weather moves in next week. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
In addition, I have received 2-3 phones messages from our neighbors about students using excessive speed around the high school. Whether on Country Rd, Patten Rd. or Hartford Rd. these are thickly settled areas and I would ask parents to remind their son/daughter to follow the posted speed limits. Again, thank you for your cooperation.
Finally, we are working with an outside organization to review our current traffic pattern, so you may see individuals in vests taking pictures, counting cars, etc. over the next few weeks. Nothing will change this year, however we are hoping to make some positive changes for the next school year. We appreciate your patience.
Good luck to all of our seniors as they being their Capstone Experience. Thank you to Guidance Counselors, Heidi Hider and Susan Lynch for coordinating the W. A. Internship Program.
NOTICE: Parking passes are still required at W.A. Open parking for the Class of 2018 begins the Monday following graduation.
Graduation Shout-out to Seniors - WA Ghostwriter
The end of your child's high school career is near! We know you have many different ways to commemorate the occasion, but we'd like to offer another possibility. The staff of the student newspaper, The WA Ghostwriter, invites you to purchase a graduation shout-out for your son or daughter. We publish a printed June edition of the newspaper that is distributed at graduation. Since it features a list of the graduates' college destinations, it tends to be a hot commodity! We are selling four different shout-out spaces this year. (http://waghostwriter.com/advertising/) Deadline for submitting all materials and payment: April 13, 2017. The Ghostwriter staff will design your shout-out at no additional cost! Photos that work well: senior portraits (that you have a
release for), baby pictures, candid's, close up and clear photos. Photos that do not work well: Iphone photos, blurry or unfocused photos. Message example: “We are so proud of you Sam! We know you will do well in college and succeed at UConn! We hope you always stay true to yourself and follow your dreams! Love, Mom and Dad”. Feel free to email me with any questions! email@example.com
