Dear Students, Parents & Guardians,
With the upcoming course selection process for students, we wanted to bring a new course to your attention.   The course is titled WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT.  It is a new elective course that will be offered through the English and Wellness Departments.  A brief description is below:

049 - WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT CP1 2.5 credits
What makes women feel EMPOWERED?  How can this understanding help women to be more resilient individuals and to be more active participants in the global society? Answers to these questions will be explored through this new semester elective offered through the English and Wellness departments.  Topics include Women in History, The Role of Women in Society, Domestic Violence and Gender Equality/Equity.  The course includes personal goal-setting, confidence building techniques, and daily self-reflection. All genders welcome.

This is a class open to ALL students in grades 10-12 next year.  We'd like to stress the importance of ALL GENDERS WELCOME.  Although the course may seem like it is geared to female students, it is important to recognize the role everyone can play in making our community, nation and world a more safe and productive place for women.
If you have any questions about the course, please feel free to contact us.

Melanie Jozokos (mjozokos@westfordk12.us) & Kyle Kucaj (kkucaj@westfordk12.us)

Have a great weekend!  Jim Antonelli
