Interested juniors are invited to attend a Guidance Department-sponsored College Essay Writing workshop this coming Tuesday (early release day), May 1, from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm in the PAC.

Topics to be discussed include:

Purpose of the Essay
Topic Selection
Characteristics of a Strong Essay
How Admissions Officers Review Essays
Tips and Pitfalls

Westford Academy Theater Arts presents Cabaret directed by Larry Sousa
Westford Academy Theater Arts presents Cabaret directed by Larry Sousa at the Westford Academy Performing Arts Center on May 3, 4, 5 at 7:30 with a special matinee performance on May 5 at 2:00.  Cabaret is based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood with music by John Kander & lyrics by Fred Ebb.   May 3 is WA student night ñ Students tickets are $8.00 or two for $10.00.  For all other evening performances, Adult tickets are $18.00 and Student/Senior tickets are $12.00.  All matinee seats are $12.00. Tickets are available online at www.mktix.com/wata or can be purchased at the Westford Academy box office during live hours including Tuesday~May 1st from~6:30 PM - 8:30 PM and Thursday April 26th from 6:30 PM ñ 8:30 PM.
WATA's Cabaret features a production team of over 100 WA students including a 43 person student orchestra conducted by Mr. Ken Culver!
Cabaret is set at the Kit Kat Club in Berlin during the 1930s when the Nazi Party is gaining strength.  The story unfolds around Clifford Bradshaw, an American writer who travels to Berlin seeking inspiration for his book. Amongst many interesting characters whom he meets are Sally Bowles, a singer at the Kit Kat Klub, and a relationship blooms.  They live together in a boarding house managed by Fraulein Schneider and her suitor, Herr Schultz, a Jewish fruit-shop owner. As the action unfolds, hearts are won and broken as the world travels inevitably spirals towards World War II.  Musical numbers include Willkommen, Cabaret, Donít Tell Mama, Two Ladies, and many more. This award winning Broadway musical is rich with dancing and singing, and is sure to bring audiences to their feet.
